U.S. Drug Strategy in the Caribbean

The international drug trade has been a problem for decades and is showing no signs of slowing down. The United States strategy has been based around stopping drugs in transit. As long as drug trafficking is a viable and rewarding business, there will always be those who attempt it. The U.S. needs to focus on working with governments in Central and South America in order to combat drug cartels and repair their local economies to make progress.
