A case for strategic management : VERSA Engineering & Technology

The intent of this paper is to accomplish two goals: one, make a case for strategic management; and two, provide a proposed strategic management plan for VERSA Engineering & Technology and its subsidiary ConneXsys Engineering. Both are engineering design and contracting firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, working mainly in the oil and gas, and biotech sectors. By providing substantive information through best practices, models, case studies, etc., and developing an initial strategic management plan, VERSA is provided with a perspective from which to explore strategic management as a concept and its application. In the pages that follow, a brief introduction of VERSA and the recently acquired ConnneXsys Engineering will be provided, along with a detailed literature review, strategic analysis and plan, and finally recommendations and conclusions on how to proceed strategically.
